CHRISTOPHER BRAIDE

MAGICAL THINKER

Marc Almond & Chris Braide - Live at Royal Festival Hall.

“I have spent the last three years writing with the best person in the world, Chris Braide, who happens to also be a brilliant producer and acclaimed songwriter. I am very proud of it. We will perform much of the album at the Royal Festival Hall but of course there will be favourites for the fans – It will be a brilliant evening of rehearsed chaos.” - Marc Almond

Producers - A project featuring Chris Braide, Trevor Horn, Lol Creme, Stephen Lipson & Ash Soan

“Steve (Lipson) and I started working together a long time ago on a few projects for Simon Fuller. He was producing and I’d written a couple of songs, and we met in the studio. Actually, Simon had said, ‘You should talk to Steve; you’d get on, you two.’ I namedropped things as a test, like, ‘I love the B-side of P-Machinery.’ Steve replied, ‘You must be weird.’ It broke the ice and He became a really great friend. He kept saying to me, ‘We should do a band and just have some fun.’ I said I didn’t want to but he kept banging on. Then he said, ‘I spoke to Trevor and he’s up for it.’ I went home that night and thought, ‘I can’t not do that” - Chris Braide

“All we ever wanted to be was a bar band and enjoy playing. The idea of The Producers was just to play and have fun” - Stephen Lipson

Queen Of The Planet Wow! A project written and performed by Chris Braide and XTC’s Andy Partridge.

A project featuring Chris Braide and Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart.

“I met Chris Braide in London when he was only 24 years old, yet he was so mature as a songwriter and a consummate musician. Chris could sing and play any of his songs effortlessly on piano or guitar. He and I spent many days and weeks in my Church studios experimenting amongst the vortex of creative chaos that tends to surround me and I could see Chris was soaking up everything and enjoying being amongst lot’s of other crazy artists. Chris could sing like a bird and he also could attract a lot of birds too. He had the whole package… amazing musician, great songwriter, fantastic voice and if that wasn’t enough he looked like a young Marc Bolan. So after a while I marched him off to Greenwich village in NYC where I bought him a sliver glitter guitar and we spent time in the Jimmy Hendrix studio Electric Ladyland, where in the early hours of the morning we staggered out with a great album. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it” - Dave Stewart

Singer Songwriter is an album of covers of songs written for other people. The album includes the song Sky Show written for the Stan Lee animated series The Reflection. All songs are performed acoustically with piano and vocal.

Chris Braide and Ash Soan had developed a strong musical connection as founder members of Producers, before Braide moved to the US in 2010. When they linked up again, the old chemistry was still there and the idea of forming a new band immediately took shape. The muse was swiftly awakened and an album’s worth of new songs with the title Universal Mind came to life, the lyrics facing the unresolved dualism between fake and real self and their eternal fight for dominance. Bassist Lee Pomeroy was called to join Chris and Ash in their distinctive creative venture and This Oceanic Feeling was born. Braide compares the album’s sound to ‘The Police’ Ghost In The Machine or Yes’ 90125. Put Down The Gun was nominated for the anthem award at the classic rock awards.
